Mount Yushan is inspired by the mountainous landscape of Yushan, the highest peak in Taiwan.
Departing from the mountain’s natural local colors, the work reconstructs the visual impression of the alpine landscape through cool Mount Yushan blue tones, seeking to evoke the crisp air and profound stillness experienced in high-altitude environments.
Within the composition, rocky surfaces emerge and recede through drifting mist.
Through layered applications of mineral pigments and subtle tonal variations, the painting expresses the interplay between the hardness of the mountain rock and the moisture-laden atmosphere surrounding it.
The work ultimately aims to convey the grandeur, power, and sublime presence of the mountain.
