北韓藝術作品多出自朝鮮平壤美術大學相關科系受訓八年以上的時間，其中學員經國家的培訓後成為藝術作品產出的主力軍。 ​ 繪畫風格多為寫實、蘊含民族意識。題材包含山水景緻、名勝古蹟、寫生動物等，伴隨著國家思想及社會主義，在創作間保留特有的民俗風情，屬於藝術風格鮮明的類別，經過長期嚴峻的受訓，每件作品金雕細琢，不論構圖或筆觸等，在技巧表現上呈現國家級專業素養

Most of the works of art in North Korea come from the relevant departments of the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts in North Korea who have been trained for more than eight years, and the trainees have become the main force in the output of art works after being trained by the state. ​ The painting style is mostly realistic and contains national consciousness.
